I'm a training coordinator in my dispatch center and I've been looking for new training topics to develop our monthly training, so I bought this book. I have to say, it is more relatable to me than any other resilience and stress management book I have read so far, including those for "law enforcement."It's a good read for dispatchers, first responders, supervisors and the general public to understand the ups and downs of this job and what it actually means to take those calls, become involved with each caller's/responder's crisis, and how sometimes we make it our own.So good chapter 7 comes with a pretty stiff warning.Going to buy another copy for my center for sure.

For an experienced user of earlier Word versions, I was disappointed in the lack of information on details, such as setting defaults, finding topics that now require the use of several function keys, .a more detailed index to find information, etc. Illustrations are too small and unclear to be useful.Pets4hlth@ameritech.net

It has the information but does not allow the reader to easily look for specific processes without reading the whole book. Young folks with open minds will profit most. Old codgers will get lost in tedium.

The usual "For Dummies" fare.Cursory overviews, no real depth.

I bought this book along with the CD; I've used the CD more than the book but am glad that I bought both. In my opinion, all Dummies books are amazing and well written. Without using complicated terms, they explain what you need to know.

Too brief on each subject. Need to be more in-depth. If you want to find more in-depth information, order the individual books on each subject.

This is book 2 in the Newpointe 911 series.Well, it's no secret that I adore Terri Blackstock. This book leaves me with no different opinion. The title was extremely fitting. The characters battled with doubting and maintaining faith in the suspect, a dear friend to many of them. Doubt is something that tickles in the back of your mind, it slips in; it's not a brick wall that just hits you in the face. But just a tiny bit of doubt is enough to tint your opinions and views, which will affect your actions.Terri Blackstock has expertly woven a new story in her Newpointe 911 series. This story surrounds Celia and Stan Shepherd. The recurring characters continue to develop and we get to peek into Allie and Mark's restored relationship too. I loved the plot and, of course, I love the characters. The setting feels so authentic to me, but I wouldn't really know any different if I were honest. I particularly enjoy the small town atmosphere; now that I can attest to. Overall, wonderful addition to my library!

Truthfully I could not believe how self-destructive Celia's actions were through much of the book. With all this damage control, the real killer had to be carefully ferreted out. Well done!

I really enjoy this series, but it would be way more interesting if they were a little less predictable. It was so obvious who the killer was, it made me frustrated with the police and everyone else in the book!

I've read several of Terri Blackstock's books and have enjoyed them all. I had no problem getting into the story right away. It's been quite a while since I read the first book in the series and I don't remember the police force being such a group of bumbling idiots. I did have the killer figured out about a third of the way into the book. Even still, I couldn't put it down because I was anxious to see how much more the authorities could screw things up and to what lengths they finally had to go to catch the killer.Aunt Aggie's character was stellar and the additional groundwork of Jill and Dan's relationship will surely be key to a later installment. There's also an inkling that something could crop up between Nick and Issie.

Ms. Blackstock is an excellent writer. She certainly knows how to get one's attention from the beginning. The suspense and story line keep the reader wanting to keep going--hate to put the book down!

This was a suspenseful book. It kept my attention and I wanted to keep reading (even to 2 and 3 A.M.) to the very end. I did figure out who did it before the end but wanted to get verification of my idea. Terri Blackstock is a great writer and never under performs with her books. Buy it or borrow it and read. The suspense will keep you reading while the gospel message trickles in. A wonderful mix of who done it with Christian values that will leave you wanting more.

As usual, I enjoyed this book by Terri Blackstock. She keeps your interest all the way through to the end. And I never have to worry about coming across foul language or steamy hot sex scenes. All her books are based on Christianity and her love of the Lord and his book. I read her books over and over again.

Alhtough I haven't finished this book, I'm almost there. Very detailed information, and eye opening. It does start out with background information and how all of the GMO came about and why and who was involved - from long ago. Really wanted to read more about current events- maybe that's what I haven't gotten to read yet.This book will make you mad - at the powers to be and the rich that want to take control of the 4 major industries to have complete control over the world - and this is just one of those industries (FOOD) with the others being Medicine, Oil, and Money. You will find out by reading this book that the government and a few very wealthy individuals are controlling everything and not just in the US- but all over the world. I had no idea how far they had gone in controlling the resources for their use in the future. Great read, detailed, and some redundancy, but would recommend this for anyone wanting to know how far things have gotten out of hand and how blind we are to not fight back. There is a hidden agenda and it's all around us. Open Your Eyes!!

An absolute must read for anyone concerned about genetically modified foods and what they do to people. This is more of the politics behind it rather than a scientific review of GMO. For more science of GMOs, read Seeds of Deception. The politics behind it is just as important because the author shows how it really began with the Eugenics movement, which the NAZIs adopted as a national policy. then after that was discredited, the Rockefellers brought it into the mainstream of America and it's not just genetically modified foods, it's people too. Scary stuff, but real.

Another good account of how the biotech industry has corrupted, covered up and maligned many, in an attempt to totally control our food supply. I believe we will be seeing more and more evidence that points to such corruption and the lies we have been "fed" from the biotech industry and sanctioned by the FDA and the government.

Reads like an intriguing James Bond script... intrigue and corruption in high places. World domination is not enough for Monsanto or the Rockefellers, they want genocide too. Kept reading each chapter hoping for some great super-hero to sort it out, but there is no movie ending here, but more like the preparations being put in place for the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse to be released upon the world. A real Eye-opener and information everyone should know so we understand what is really going on behind the scenes of World Governments. Could not put it down till I read it through.

The shadow politicians cast over the so called Age of Enlightenment is criminal. Previously we went to war to kill ourselves for ideals. Today we just have to eat food to get ourselves killed by our farmers and their political protectors. Yet we still go off to war. We are living in a Dark Age of Madness now. Nowhere is the human race safe not even in our homes at dinner time. The killers now own the supermarkets also.

I stumbled upon this series through a targeted ad that caught my eye on Facebook. The premise is that a group of adult-ish people are getting together for a session of Caverns and Creatures (totally not a stand-in for Dungeons and Dragons). They are looking to freshen things up, so they advertise on Craigslist for a Dungeon Master to lead the adventure. Mordred shows up, and he is...something else. He has the rules, he has the dice, but what he doesn't have is any patience for people who aren't taking the game seriously. One thing leads to another, and after one too many jokes at his expense, Mordred casts Dave, Cooper, Julien, and Tim into the world of Caverns and Creatures. They are fully aware they are in the game, and now with the race, body, and skills of their characters, they have to use their knowledge of the rules to navigate the land as they try to find a way home. Hilarity ensues.If you remember the old 80s Dungeons and Dragons cartoon where the group of kids got transported to the world of Dungeons and Dragons and spent a few seasons trying to get home, you'll be on the right track with this series. The big difference is that instead of some wholesome, albeit whiny, kids getting into the game, imagine that it was you and your friends, you filthy animal.No dick joke is too small, no fart joke is too putrid, no mom joke is too obvious.

I found myself liking the first book in this set more than I would admit in public. It's low-brow D&D humor, but well done low-brow humor. I devoured the first three books fairly quickly, and for those alone I consider the purchase worthwhile.Which brings us to Book 4.Book 4 had the same gags going on, but the plot and pacing were all over the place. The book series had steadily increased the set of characters it was tracking, and no one really got enough screen time. The story is told in linear time, with the characters literally all over the world, so from scene change to scene change, characters would appear,disappear, move, have done stuff, with no real explanation. The plot seemed to happen in spite of the characters, who were sort of _there_ while events unfolded. The climax of the thing was just bizarre. And for me, the ultimate sin was character development: the one character who seemed to be built as the sympathetic point-of-view character .. it's not just that I didn't like him anymore. He was made so unsympathetic that I didn't care about him anymore.Conclusion: I got my moneys worth in amusement value. If you're a long time roleplayer, especially if you started young, the gags will be funny, and the story told in the first three books is worth your time. Book 4 ... meh.

I was tempted to give it 1 star, but the story was too good. I gave it 3 stars because occasionally this story was very engaging. Sections of the story were kept me turning pages wondering what would happen next and I really enjoyed it. Other times the story was so bad I skipped entire portions of the series without losing any context (book 3). Which really was a let down when I was turning pages and then hit a dead spot (more than 1).The author often just throws something into the story out of no where, without regard to the past story events, or in direct conflict to his own fantasy world, to simply move the plot forward because he couldn't think of anything.Also be prepared for incredible racism, and sexism that the author thinks to be hilarious. A better title would have been "Swords. Sorcery. Bigotry"

Sure there are dick and fart jokes.But this series is really funny and clever. If you ever played fantasy roll playing games, you will get the humor, you will understand the frustration of not really knowing what is going on as a new player, and the insanity of making bad decisions and pissing off your DM.I know I will never see charisma scores the same way again.If you haven't played, you might not get all the jokes, but it is still funny.Robert Bevan is a gifted author. Read his stuff. It doesn't disappoint!

Funny stuff. This is how to do LitRPG. Make the characters interesting, fun and a little crass. A cast of multiple characters, instead of a single Mary Sue/Gary Stu style uber-mensch.It's also fun that this is rooted more in the classic paper and dice RPG's and not full of the MMO cliche's of many other LitRPG stories.I read about these characters and I think back to some of the epic campaigns my friends and I used to have, and the crazy messed-up stuff we tried. I can see these guy's fitting in at any role-playing convention. The crude jokes with Cooper are a little over the top by now, but it's become a staple of the story I guess.And I shudder to think what Julian is going to do with his "Summon Mount" spell next.

As a long time roleplayer myself, I thoroughly enjoyed this because I could envision several of the friends I've played with over the years as the different characters in the story. Though it is an enjoyable story, it's quite predictable at times if you're at all familiar with roleplaying tropes. Also, I can't recommend this for anyone who is sensitive to foul language, crass humor, lewd comments, and irreverent jokes. But if those don't bother you, this series is a rollicking good time. I nearly hurt myself laughing a few times at the absurdity of the situations the characters found themselves in.

If you have ever played an rpg and you like crude humor, you will like these stories. If the old dungeons and dragons cartoon were made into an adult oriented book, this is what you would get.Don't expect a massive amount of character development.Don't expect a literary masterpiece.Don't expect a story so moving you'll be brought to tears.Instead, get ready to enjoy a enjoyable story with some over the top crazy geek humor.
