This is a great book to read as a follow-up activity to completing the behavior analysis post-master's. It is the "what to do once you're out there trying to do it" book to read... And I am finding that with Bobby Newman in the picture there can be nothing dry about it. Funny guy.

I LOVE this book. Keeps things real and in language even a beginner can understand key terms and concepts of ABA.

They were not kidding when they said "JUMBO PRINT"! Guess they use the egg-size grading system where "JUMBO" means MUCH LARGER than "Large." I feel like I am in first grade and should be using Crayolas to fill out these GIGANTIC puzzles.Side from that (shock at how large they are), I think it's time that crossword puzzle publishers start using more common sense in designing these books. I bought this one because I thought it would have "large print" (not GIGANTIC!)--meaning larger than the tiny faint print so common in the cheaper books. I also bought it for the SPIRAL binding, but there was no need for a spiral binding on a book that prints clues on the left side and the puzzles on the right! It means you are constantly flipping back and forth for the current page, or else you are using the book flat, in which case, why do you need spiral binding? Totally illogical. The metal binding drives up the price of the book but offers ZERO benefit.As for the puzzles themselves, they are not all that "easy." What they are is "abbreviated"--meaning, not very many clues or answers in each puzzle. The book also does not specify if the answer is more than one word (which is helpful to know in figuring out the answer). The puzzles themselves ask for obscure as well as very "easy" answers. Examples: Easy: Composer Stravinsky. Trickier/obscure: Pen name of Charles Dickens.Another annoyance I've noticed in recent crossword books purchased: The arrangement of answers in back of book is seemingly haphazard instead of in numerical order. I can't figure out why they do that, but it means I have to keep the answer page open--because if I don't have the answer in 2 or 3 guesses, I check the answer page and correct things and move on.What is nice about the book: the beautiful cover, which is sturdy as well as pretty. And the quality paper.If my recommendations/criticisms were heeded, this book could sell for HALF the price. $12.95 is steep for what you get.Will probably not buy any more books by this publisher unless they attend to these issues/suggestions. :)

The only way I could be more pleased would be if these had Pat Zajak's Clues.Yeah, I am not an accomplished crossword puzzle fanatic. A fanatic, perhaps, but not very good at the puzzles.Still, I do like to try solving them when I'm not writing something. It's a pretty good way to work through writer's block.BOTTOM LINEFive stars out of five.

My 96 yr. old Mom is having trouble with her vision, and this crossword book is great for her. She did say the puzzles are not all "easy" though.

I enjoy doing crosswords late at night, I love the spiral bound, easy to handle, and the big print iswonderful!!!!

E.g., they listed the incorrect name for the nurse who was part of the Tuskegee experiment. (I guess they thought watching the movie was enough.); was a Nazi nurse the best "compassionate" image they could come up for the WWII era?; a typo that puts the Middle Ages as starting in 476 BC instead of 476 AD (pretty sloppy for the 7th edition); using the long debunked term "Dark Ages" and then incorrectly dating the Dark Ages from 146 BC to 476 AD when 476 AD was about when they STARTED, not ended. Using a figure from the Roman empire for their section on the Middle Ages (only about 700 years off); placing the Crusades about 500 years too early; using the examples of New Testament figures of noblewomen Dorcas and Phoebe as nurses (do they have a different Bible than I do?); implying that females weren't allowed to help in the birthing of children during the Middle Ages when it was the MEN who couldn't participate; and on and on and on. What a disaster.

This really is a pretty good book with an excellent overview of many issues faced by today's nurses and student nurses. However there was a lot of repetition, for which it received 4 stars, (but perhaps the authors did this on purpose to drill what I found to be fairly dry reading into our heads?). This book may not go completely in depth into the subject materials as it seems to be more of a broad based introductory reading but it more than makes up with the abundant offerings of outside sources it provides for one to be able to fully explore any further issues or questions that have caught your attention.

The book is much different than the newer version so it won't work for class if your teacher wants the updates. oh well my bad for ordering it :(

I enjoy the text. I am learning a lot and did not realize how much is involved in nursing today. The text outlines the basics in contemporary nursing issues, and gives references by links to further your studies. Very well written!

had to rent it for school

The 6th addition is much thinner than the 5th and 4th. I feel it is a quicker read than the other previous additions. The nice thing is I get to read this version on my Kindle with the new formatting of the text. I do not think this was available in the previous versions.

It's Ok, but still missing some topic. Wish I subscribe for the new edition.

A great companion to have handy and I don't have lots of notes to take as the book is right in front of me. It is easy to follow. I love having this and of course as usual Amazon has the best price by far!

This is the most important fishing book ever written. We've all heard about big data, well here we have it on a subject dear to our hearts: bass fishing. The author dispels several myths that always sounded "fishy" to begin with, like those regarding moon phases. I could go on and on praising the author's serious statistical efforts (I too am a professional statistician/fishing nut), but as in any early foray into a statistical realm, we can't expect perfection from this statistical pioneer. He acknowledges, but underplays, what he calls "effort bias," (p. 83) i.e., his data shows what fish were caught, but doesn't show how long it took a fisherman took to catch a fish. For example, if a fisherman caught a whopper with a plastic worm, was he fishing all day with that lure, or had he been fishing all day with plugs and caught the fish on his first cast with the worm, etc. He has one source to reduce this bias, when he cleverly gathers additional data about number of boat launches at particular lakes. Oh, and it is surprising how strong his result is on the effects of fishing pressure, that is, how the amount of others fishing reduces your catch. But, JUST BUY THE BOOK.

I was intrigued by the book since I love to bass fish, and I'm somewhat of a statistical geek (I HATE math, but I think statistical analysis can be somewhat fascinating).The book kept enough of my interest that I blew through it in two days. The author goes into detail about his methods of collecting the data, and what the end results where (spoiler alert: soft plastics statistically catch more fish).There's a lot of interesting finds in regards to moon phases, prime fishing hours, lure color selections, effects of sunlight, water clarity, monster bass, etc. In the end, I'm not sure I was completely convinced enough to make any radical changes to my fishing techniques based solely on his findings. However, I'm 55 years old, been bass fishing since I was a kid, I'm admittedly pretty stubborn. That beign said, it's hard to argue with solid data. I think a lot of fishermen out there would find this book worthy of a read.

I have fished seriously for about 20 years and I've read most of what has been written regarding bass fishing. This book is an absolute must read for anyone who is trying to gain a better understanding of fishing. The author has a way of keeping things to the point and doesn't ramble just to sound like an expert which I much appreciated as a reader. It also is not an obvious advertisement for a particular brand of lures or tackle.I would rate it's relevance for the beginning angler up there with the work of Buck Perry and Dr Keith Jones as most beneficial to read.

This book will help you make better decisions and increase your catch rate, even for non-trophy fish. It has been a tremendous help for me in the short time from which I read the book to putting some of the tips and information to use.

I’ve bass fished for over 40 years and have read a lot of bass literature in that time. It’s been quite some time since I’ve really found anything new and enlightened on the subject. Some books may discuss new ideas on how to catch more or bigger fish but usually lack a clear plan of action that you can take to the water and use. “High Percentage Fishin” delivers where other books on the subject don’t. When you finish this book as well as his other book “Lunker Lore” you’ll have new ideas you can take to the water and the results will be more fish in the boat. I highly recommend both of the Authors books. Well worth the read.

If you are looking for a written work the size of Doug Hannon or Bill Murphy's this is not the book for you. This book actually takes many of the best points that are actually contradicting from these experts and makes sense of it all. The book explains facts and eliminates a lot of lore from most people's decision making on when and where it is best to go fishing.

A perspective that many of us miss. We become so focused on are 'Here & Now' and give little concern for a bigger picture of are success. After all, how many of us have invested good money into this sport and satisfied to walk away with one or two fish if given those odds. I like to improve my chances and prefer to have the odds in my favor. I think this book will prove itself.

I haven't fished really since I was a kid. I was on vacation at a lake house in the Adirondacks this past week and I brought my fishing gear. I'm a big believer in researching before doing, so I read this book and low and behold....I caught 3 smallmouth in 45 minutes after following some of the advice/statistics! I can't say 100% it was all due to the book, I didn't ask the fish :). However, I chose my spot on the lake, color, and bait right out of the book.
