I grew up and loved both of these books as a child! My one year old could really care less about these stories (or the pictures), but I'm hoping she grows to love them!

Both my husband and I were read Good Night Moon as babies, and we both are set on passing the love on to our own children. I was already familiar with Runaway Bunny, which is why I jumped on this box set. (I had the joy of introducing it to my husband as well as my tiny ones.)My complaint and three stars is for Good Night Moon. (It's a simple rhyme story that goes through the room and says good night to all the objects. Very cute story.) The story begins with the light on, and then in the last half of the book the light turns off. In this particular set, the light off pages are very, very dark. It's very difficult to see the images on these pages even in normal light, and would be impossible under low light. Also, any child/adult with vision problems might not be able to see any of the detail at all, even in normal light.The picture was taken under a skylight and compares the book from this set (left) to the book I was replacing (right). Both are board books.We previously had a board book for Good Night Moon that didn't have this issue, so I think perhaps we simply ended up with a badly printed one. (Especially as Runaway Bunny did not have this issue.) I still highly recommend both stories, but I will have to replace the one book.

I gave my grandson these two books a while ago. I believed he was around two years old. He loved "Good night moon". I used to read it to him before going to bed and I explained every detail in the pictures. After reading it he used to pass the pages back and forth and looked at the pictures. I explained to him about all the objects found in the bedroom and in that way he learnt new words. Sometimes he turned out the pages and he himself named almost all the objects. He loved round shapes and the first thing he recognized was the moon. Then we compared the differences between the two pictures of the bedroom. I have to confess that my first impression was that the book was very simple, but then I realized how much this book -text and pictures- attracted him. The. colours of the bedroom with deemed lights I believe entice to sleep.Nice book for children until two years old to be read before going to bed, simple, cozy and very good for observation,

My little granddaughter and I spent much time reading this story. It is a dear classic, and very interesting for a young beginning devotee of books. Now, that my granddaughter is in school, and so much more sophisticated, the age of 6, I remember this story with great fondness, and I've bought it recently for another tiny little one. I hope he loves it as much as we did. If you've not met the script--it goes over a litany of things to tell goodnight, including the moon. It is not based in reality, but flies off, to a lovely, soothing imaginative realm, where a room is filled with creative objects: In the great green roomThere was a telephoneAnd a red balloonAnd a picture of thecow jumping over the moon.....the rhyming litany goes on, to tell all the objects goodnight. The repetitiveness is appropriate as an earliest intro to bedtime stories.

A pair of the books I read most often to our 4 children nightly for many years. I still know most of the lines by heart and the kids are all in their 20s. Purchased this for my new granddaughter. Can't wait to snuggle her on my lap and read what had been her father's favorite book - and the one he began 'reading' to his sister almost as soon as she was born. Our copies weren't board books and are tucked away in my 'treasures' box.

I loved how it came as a set with Runaway Bunny. Both of those books were my children's favorite stories when they were young. The board books are sturdy for little hands and no worries about tearing pages.

Always a favorite, I purchased this set (once again) as a baby shower gift. Goodnight Moon is a timeless, sweet, rhythmic story to put any little one into bedtime slumber and The Runaway Bunny is adorable with sweet illustrations in a dreamlike sequence. No wonder these Margaret Wise Brown tales are classics! This makes a sweet and affordable baby gift whose stories will become favorites for babies and their parents just before the lights go out at bedtime.

One of the books was printed upside down, which is quite an annoyance. This results in us just reading one of the books so I wish we would have ordered one rather than the set and saved the money for another book.

Was sent as a gift to my friend's granddaughter who is one year old. Granny is already getting sick of Goodnight Moon because she has had to read it so many times. A great book for bedtime reading! I am an elementary school reading specialist and I highly recommend this book for preschoolers and beginning readers.

I purchased this to read to my daughter before her first dentist visit. It starts out with George hurting his tooth while eating an apple and just goes downhill from there. Lots of pages where George is scared as well as one of him running down the hall away from the dentist looking terrified. Of course it has a happy ending, but the fear aspect of it all is just too much. I decided not to show it to my daughter, but she found it and insisted I read it anyway. I made up a different story and tried to make it sound happy, but she wasn't buying it. She went to bed and woke up saying "I no go to dentist. It's scary!" So mom fail on my part for leaving the book out for her to see, but yikes. Unless your kiddo is already afraid and/or needs to have a procedure other than cleaning done, this is NOT the book for you.

My 2.5 year old loves Curious George and is getting ready for her first dentist appointment. The book does start out with George being scared of the dentist and hiding from the dentist which I was worried my daughter would pick up on but we've been reading for a week and she doesn't seem phased by George's fear.

My grandson enjoyed reading Curious George Visits the Dentist Step-Into-Reading books. He can't wait to find out what happens at the end of the story. I would recommend the Step-Into-Reading books to other friends and family members with children who enjoys reading, and the desire to continue exceling in reading.

OK book. George gets scared at the dentist though. Not the best as we are preparing our kid for the dentist, but whatever. Similar story to the other George books so of course the kids like it.

Our toddlers love George books, this one is no exception. The only problem is that they will request to read them over and over and over and over and over......Fortunately there are a lot of them.

We read this to our son before his first dentist visit. He loved the book and wasn’t as scared the next day at his dentist appointment. The book prepared him for his visit and everything went smoothly.

We purchased this book for our three year old son before his first visit to the dentist. He gets a bit anxious if he doesn't know what to expect, and this book was perfect.We had a happy first visit. He asked if he could go to the dentist everyday!

Great book for toddlers! My son loves Curious George and this is one of his fav books ever!

I love the vivid illustrations along with the differing types of worship exampled in the book. My daughter loves to read this book to her little sister, and my youngest’s attention is captured each night. The prose eloquently and simply explains religious differences as well.

I purchased this for a friend’s new baby and I would buy it again and again. It teaches kids gratitude and mindfulness at a young age.

My children LOVE this book and it has easily become one of their favorites to read together. We have new discussions every time that guided by the beautiful illustrations. Because of how my kids respond to this book, i plan to buy more as gifts this holiday season.

I read to my son (6) every night before saying bedtime prayers and recently have focused on prayers and poetry. This beautifully illustrated book fit in perfectly. He especially appreciated the shorter prayers that we could then practice for bedtime and ones I could sing to him, like “This Little Light Of Mine” and “Kumbaya”. It explores different cultural prayers as well to broaden his horizons which led to good questions and conversation.

This is more than a condensed version of The Case for Mars, and contains an insightful critique of shortcomings at NASA. I've been "on board' with Dr. Zubrin's approach of a somewhat minimalist journey to Mars, coupled with a year and half stay as a precursor to building a continuous human presence on the Red Planet. His description and comments regarding the Mars sample return mission proposed by NASA are incisive, and point out the dangers associated with allowing a bureaucratic approach to space exploration. The complicated and very expensive mission panders to all the different groups within the space agency, and is highly reminiscent of the ill-fated GHW Bush "90 day plan," for a human mission to Mars.This is a very useful book when discussing travel to Mars. I gave it 5 stars, only because there wasn't a 6 star rating possible.

Zubrin doesn't fetish around with exaggerated, over-the-top-costly manned missions of the sorts that'lleasily be rejected by any economically driven, realistic business man or bureaucrat. Zubrin introduces acost-effective, direct approach which NASA could've committed themselves to in the 1980's. Too bad itnever turned out that way. Zubrin went off to found The Mars Society, and Mars Direct Plan was exiled tothe shelves where many other great ideas had been filed.This book is a recommendation to anyone who's been fooled into believing a Mars journey and settlementhave to be insanely expensive and profoundly complicated. Read it!

I thought this would be an edited-down pocket version of The Case for Mars, but it is not! of course it contains some of the same information, but also new stuff, written more recently... including some scathing indictments about "Apollo Mode vs. Shuttle Mode thinking" that won't make Zubrin any more friends at NASA. But sadly, he happens to be right. There's also an intriguing glimpse into Zubrin's meetings with Elon Musk and one possible scenario for how SpaceX might facilitate Mars exploration and (later on) settlement. That scenario works whether SpaceX serves as a NASA subcontractor or whether SpaceX does it independently with basic NASA cooperation (there's no substitute for the Deep Space Network, for instance). Definitely worth a read.If you already own The Case for Mars, this little book helps to update that case (to 2013 anyway). If you're new to Zubrin's thinking, this little book is a great place to begin.

I completely disagree with the review that said this is merely a condensed version of Robert's classic book, "Case For Mars". On the contrary, it shows that Robert can still weave his magic without merely rehashing old topics. True, the first of four parts of this book does summarize the Mars Direct Plan, but the rest is completely new material, material that would fit nicely into an updated Case For Mars edition.A few examples of the new material in this book covered with perfect Zubrin flair:-> How concerns for human safety have mired NASA, and how they compare with a rational, engineering risk analysis.-> An augmented plan, dubbed "Mars Indirect", showing how we could get to Mars using existing crafts from the SpaceX corporation.-> How the latest political onslaught has killed off the last bits of NASA in the recent 2010-2012 time frame.I think the timing was perfect for this publication to counter Buzz Aldrin's proposals, which make some interesting points, but seem hopelessly naive in their desire to work from within current politics.Warning - what is revealed about what the Obama administration has done to the remaining functional projects at NASA will infuriate you. It saddens me that we as a country have no issue launching a protest to save the Internet against SOPA, yet we won't do something similar to protect the 1% of NASA's budget that actually gets results.P. S. Amazon, Robert, PLEASE create a Kindle version of "Entering Space" - I view this as your best work, and it's my favorite book.

I like how Zubrin has hope for the future. I think we should have already gone to Mars. By not going we are saying we are scared to try. America never backs down from a challenge. At least not when we have good, sane leadership. Maybe we'll get lucky and get another Kennedy type who takes us to Mars and uses Zubrin's plan. Anyone who thinks we shouldn't is not worth listening to. We would learn so much from it and inspire ten times more innovation. We might even find some really important minerals on Mars that will further humanity. Let's do it no more excuses.

I enjoyed the optimism despite every reason to resent the masive failures sufferer due to the lack of leadership in the once great NASA. It is clear that we have to step up and take this vital challenge upon ourselves. We cannot wait, dependant on ANY government as the window for great governments is closed shut. We as scientists, inventors and humans :) have to learn to look inwards to achieve this great goal. Looking at governments wil postpone indefinitely, fact. Thank you for the great booklet, I look forward to an update.

During all the recent talk of asteroid missions, L2 stations in lunar space and such, Zubrin makes a great case once again for setting our sights directly on Mars. The technologies exist right now. There's no need for multi-decade delays awaiting better rockets. The Spacex Falcon-9 Heavy may be enough to get us there. A great read which gave me renewed hope that I might see human flights to Mars in my lifetime. This is an excellent read if you really care about a bright future for human space flight.

This very short book presents the best case I've read thus far regarding how and why we should go to Mars now. I far preferred it to the collection of short papers by a number of authors (including Zubrin) "Colonizing Mars-The Human Mission to the Red Planet" and I look forward to reading another of Zubrin's books "The Case for Mars", which I recently obtained directly from the author while at the National Space Society's 2013 annual conference.
